What's new — version history

What changed in each miriGFX release — V1.8 adds ring, stopwatch and analog clock timers; V1.7 added Lottie animations; V1.6 added subtitle-driven prompting and clearer presenter clocks.

miriGFX is versioned so you always know what changed and when. Each release gets a version number — major releases (V1.0, V2.0) mark big milestones, and smaller updates add a point release (V1.1, V1.2). This page is the running history; newest first.

V1.8 — November 2026

New looks for countdowns and clocks.

  • Timer looks — in the graphic editor, pick a countdown's Look: Digits, Ring (a circle that drains to zero), Spinning circle, Stopwatch dial or Analog clock with sweeping, jumping or no second hand.
  • Digit animations — Flip, Drop, Swivel or Fade as each number changes.
  • Caption and final alert — add a line like "STARTING SOON" under the numbers, and set a final alert (last N seconds) with its own text, ring and background colours.
  • Marketplace — new Ring Countdown, Stopwatch Dial and Analog Clock designs.

V1.7 — October 2026

Motion graphics made simple.

  • Lottie animations — click Lottie in the graphic editor to upload a .json or .lottie file, then choose Loop or Play once on Take. Plays the same on cloud screens, the Local Hub and Camera / NDI® outputs. Lottie guide →
  • Easier to find — the Assets page labels Lottie uploads and adds a Lottie filter.

V1.6 — October 2026

More control over the script and the presenter screen. Teleprompter and Stage Timer remain Beta features for organizations in early access.

  • Subtitle scripts (Beta) — import .srt or .vtt into Teleprompter. Wrapped subtitle lines join into readable text; gaps of at least two seconds create segments. Keep hidden timecodes when you want them to guide scrolling. Teleprompter guide →
  • Follow timecodes (Beta) — choose Manual speed or timing-based scrolling, adjust the rate from 0.5× to 1.5×, nudge ±1s and clear the displayed offset with Re-sync here. Pause and hold tags still make room for applause.
  • Know where you are (Beta) — Now reading, Up next, a progress bar and Segment N of M keep the operator oriented. Played segments fold automatically; open one to edit, use Collapse to refold it, or Jump to live after scrolling away.
  • Independent prompter opacity (Beta) — adjust Background, Text and Tags separately per screen, or apply the settings to all prompter screens. Device-side changes no longer leave a stale override blocking later operator changes.
  • Simpler prompter controls (Beta) — Rehearsal removed; Auto graphics has its own switch. Script and controls align side by side, screen settings and Phone remote start collapsed, and the ? beside Upload file holds import guidance.
  • Stage Timer clock formats (Beta) — choose Minutes while green, Always minutes and seconds, or Minutes only with seconds in the last minute. Wide · 1920×440 keeps labels and stage messages separate from the clock, and timer starts handle small clock differences more steadily. Stage Timer guide →
  • Output reliability — corrected cloud Teleprompter display assignment and improved remote screen-settings updates. Poll QR codes load in the browser without breaking a page’s first load. Stage Timer and Teleprompter use live updates with fallback refreshes.
  • Updated website and Help — practical subtitle and segment-management instructions, current operator examples, and selectable presenter-clock demonstrations.

V1.5 — October 2026

Live audience polls, tools for the whole stage, a visual animation timeline and monthly plans. Beta features are available to organizations in early access.

  • Screens (Beta) — pair a screen once, then choose GFX Playout, Confidence Monitor, Stage Timer or Teleprompter and switch it live. Wide 1920×440 timer layout and compact one-line screen rows.
  • Show Add-Ons — switch extra tools on per show. Camera / NDI® output now lives here. NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB.
  • Stage Timer (Beta) — countdown, count-up and count-to-time segments, On deck, easy color thresholds, minutes-only while green, a time zone picker, quick messages and Marketplace styles.
  • Teleprompter (Beta) — upload Word, PDF or text scripts, use tags like [PAUSE] and [HOLD 5], take graphics from the script with text rows and layers, and mirror, flip or fade the prompter from your seat. Includes a phone remote.
  • Animation timeline (Beta) — one timeline with scrubbing, hold or play-through, a draggable pause point and wipes that reverse on the way out.
  • Organization themes (Beta) — save brand colors and fonts and apply them to many graphics. My Templates is now My Graphics / Templates.
  • Camera scoreboard reader (Beta) — better reading of straightened boards and clocks.
  • Monthly plans — Single Channel $9.99/month and 4 Channels $29.99/month alongside yearly. Checkout follows the plan you picked at sign-up and shows a live coupon preview.
  • Live polls (Beta) — QR voting and unique, never-reused 6-digit codes at gfx.miri.tech/poll. Seven question types with animated bars, races, donuts, tiles, tug-of-war, gauges, histograms, stars, averages, word clouds, quotes and vote counters. Five Marketplace designs cover full screen, lower third, side panel, ratings and words, with Join and results rows. Includes voting controls, hidden words and optional final results on phones. Cloud playout only; featured-quote approval is not available yet. Read the Live polls guide →
  • Marketplace in the show list — add designs directly from the new Marketplace tab beside Templates and Assets; each installs an editable organization copy.
  • Quick Move — nudge a graphic out of the way with just the mouse from its menu.
  • Pairing — /tv always offers a pairing code for new inputs, /tv?new=1 forces a fresh one, and presenter screens can pair at /notes.
  • New website pages — every major feature now has its own page under Features.

V1.4 — September 2026

Bring in PowerPoint presentations and give presenters their own notes screen.

  • PowerPoint import — upload a .pptx on the Import File tab. Pick the slides you want; they arrive as one slides graphic with speaker notes and PowerPoint timings, ready to run timed or manually.
  • Slide notes — every presentation (PowerPoint or Canva) now has a notes box per slide in its Slides… menu.
  • Confidence Monitor — a presenter screen with the live slide, notes, the next slide, a clock, time on the current slide and total presentation time. Each part can be switched on or off. It has its own link and counts as one screen.
  • Camera scoreboard reader — point a camera at the venue's scoreboard and miriGFX reads the score and clock into your board. A scoreboard-trained reader double-checks unclear digits, angled boards can be straightened with four corner taps, and clocks can show tenths of a second.

V1.3 — September 2026

Import whole Canva presentations, keep Canva graphics up to date, and score three new sports.

  • Canva presentations as video — import a multi-page design as one 1080p video that keeps Canva's animations and slide timings.
  • Canva presentations as timed slides — import every page into a single graphic that either advances on a looping timer or runs manually. In manual mode, the current slide stays live while the next slide is cued on Preview, with Previous and Next controls on the rundown row.
  • Update from Canva — a Canva graphic's 3-dot menu (and My Graphics / Templates) shows when the design changed in Canva and swaps in the new artwork while keeping its name, position and transitions.
  • Auto & schedule fixed — rundowns now play on the overlay you pick with the new "Send to" option, so they're no longer hidden by other graphics.
  • New sports — Tennis / racket sports, Lacrosse (with penalties and man-up) and Volleyball scoreboards, each with big one-tap buttons, undo/redo and the phone scorer, plus matching Sportsboard designs in the Marketplace.

V1.2 — September 2026

Play out on your own venue network with the Local Hub, move graphics out of the way live, and a cleaner Playout URL window.

  • Local Hub (optional) — run playout from a computer on your venue network so screens keep their graphics even if the internet drops. One-click download with everything filled in; screens pair at http://<hub-address>:6474/tv. Takes land instantly, and design or transition changes show up on the next Take.
  • Playout URL window — wider, with separate Cloud and Local Hub tabs. Pairing sits above each tab's own screen list, screens never appear twice, and offline Hub screens show under "Disconnected local devices". Local screens don't use one of your 2 screen slots.
  • Camera / NDI® output has its own link — it no longer clashes with a screen link you copied for another device.
  • Quick move — drag a graphic out of the way on Preview or Program from its three-dots menu; arrow keys nudge; saved per show; graphics can't be pushed off-screen.
  • Screen tab names — playout pages now show "Show Name — miriGFX".
  • Public Help Center — browse guides before signing up, with walkthrough videos you can play, pause and stop.
  • Terms and Privacy — public pages with revision history; sign-up asks you to accept them.

V1.1 — September 2026

Canva comes to miriGFX, every screen gets its own private playout link, and the control room picks up a stack of time-savers.

  • Canva — connect your own Canva account (each person sees only their own designs), browse your Projects folders or Recent designs, search, pick one page and bring it in as a graphic. A progress bar shows while it imports.
  • New Import page — three tabs: Import File (SVG, PNG or JPG), OGraf and Canva.
  • Per-screen playout links — every screen gets its own private link. Removing a screen cuts it off instantly. Old shared links and short codes are retired.
  • Pair a tablet or switcher — open gfx.miri.tech/tv on the device, type the 6-digit code into your show and name the device. Up to 2 screens per show.
  • Program as a camera or NDI® feed — a clean output window with a transparent, black, white, green, blue or custom background.
  • Two webcams — Webcam A and B, each with its own camera, Preview/Program toggles and opacity.
  • Many graphics per layer — stack several graphics on one overlay layer and turn each on or off by itself.
  • Faster rundown tools — the three-dots menu adds Edit graphic, Quick move, quick transitions (fade, slide, fly) and Advanced animation. Previous/Next clearly shows each row's name and text.
  • Editor — corner handles resize an object while keeping its shape.
  • Shows and teams — Overview and Shows combined, one-click Open show, a collapsible sidebar, better invites (revoke, status badges) and organization delete.

V1.0 — September 2026

The first full release of miriGFX: a complete broadcast graphics system that plays out from a single URL into OBS, vMix, TriCaster or any browser source.

  • Shows — a show is your saved production: rundown, edited values, overlay assignments and output settings. Save, Save As, duplicate, rename — and each show keeps a permanent playout URL.
  • Active outputs — your plan sets how many shows output cleanly at once. Extra active shows still work but carry a large watermark; toggle shows active from the Shows list.
  • Overlay layers — every rundown row has five activators: Preview plus overlays 1–4. Run a lower third, corner bug, ticker and countdown at the same time, each fading in and out independently.
  • Preview / Program monitors — with optional local video backgrounds (including NDI® Webcam sources) so you can see exactly where graphics land on your picture.
  • Template editor — drag to move, drag the edges to resize, bind text to layers, grow/shrink smart layouts, PowerPoint-style entrance animations, and list designs with up to 11 editable rows and columns.
  • Marketplace — free theme families (Miri Signature, Corporate Slate, Newsroom Red, Creator Neon, Event Warm, Sportsboard) with lower thirds, bugs, tickers, countdowns, scoreboards and lists. Install single items, not whole themes.
  • Scoreboards — live sports scores with a scannable QR code so anyone at the field can update runs, strikes, outs, clocks and points from their phone.
  • Control API — trigger everything from a Stream Deck or Bitfocus Companion: cue, take, next/previous, set values, scoreboard actions and more.
  • Team & plans — invite teammates by email, manage roles, and pick from Free Testing, single-show and multi-show yearly plans.

How versioning works

  • Major versions (V1.0 → V2.0) — big new capabilities or changes to how things work. We'll always explain what's different right here.
  • Point releases (V1.1, V1.2) — new features and improvements that fit into the way you already work.
  • Fixes — small repairs roll out continuously and aren't numbered; only notable changes are listed.
Bookmark this page — every future release adds its notes at the top, so you can see exactly what changed between the version you learned and the one you're running.
