Running a show

Use miriGFX as a webcam or NDI® source

Send Program to Zoom, Teams or NDI with a solid or chroma background.

A website can't install a camera on your computer, so miriGFX gives you a clean output that free tools turn into a webcam or NDI source in one step. Open Camera / NDI output at the top of the control room.

1. Choose a background

  • Transparent — for tools that keep alpha (OBS browser source, vMix web input, OBS NDI plugin).
  • Green (#00B140) or Blue (#0047BB) — the next device keys the graphics out with its chroma keyer.
  • White, Black, or any colour from the wheel — for plain full-frame feeds.

The link carries the colour (for example ?bg=green), so the same show can feed a transparent browser source and a green-screen camera at the same time. Show settings sets the default background.

2a. As a webcam (OBS Virtual Camera)

  • In OBS Studio add a Browser Source, paste the output link, and set the width and height to your show's canvas size.
  • Click Start Virtual Camera. Pick “OBS Virtual Camera” in Zoom, Teams, or any app that takes a webcam.

2b. As NDI

  • OBS + the free NDI plugin: add the Browser Source as above and enable NDI output. This keeps transparency.
  • NDI Tools Screen Capture (ndi.video/tools): click Open output window, double-click it to go full screen (the cursor is hidden), and capture that screen.
  • vMix / Wirecast / Ecamm: add the link as a web or browser input.

Preview and the control room never reach this output — only Program layers 1–4 do.

Learn more about NDI and download the free tools at ndi.video. NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB.

Webcam backgrounds (Webcam A & B)

The control room can show up to two local cameras — Webcam A and Webcam B — behind the Preview and Program monitors, so you can see exactly where graphics land on your picture. Each webcam has its own camera picker, Preview/Program toggles and opacity. The video never leaves your computer: it plays locally in your browser only and is never sent to the playout output or other screens. An NDI source works too — run it through NDI Tools' Webcam (or OBS Virtual Camera) and pick it like any camera.

Confidence Monitor

Click Confidence Monitor at the top of the control room for a presenter screen. It shows the live slide with its speaker notes in large type, the next slide, a clock, time on the current slide, and total presentation time since the first slide was shown. Tick only the parts you want — the link remembers your choices. Choose whether it follows whichever presentation is on air or one specific row.

The Confidence Monitor has its own link and counts as one screen for the show. To put one on a tablet or portable switcher, open gfx.miri.tech/notes on the device and type the pairing code shown in your show — the monitor options you picked come with it. On a Local Hub, open the Hub's /notesaddress instead (for example http://mirigfx-hub.local:6474/notes); Hubs installed before this need re-downloading.
